Reduction of the fishing quota for recreational fishing for American Eels in Nova Scotia

December 24, 2019 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) wishes to advise the public that the daily bag limit and possession limit for people recreationally fishing American eels has been reduced from 10 to 5, effective immediately (Gulf Variation Order GVO-2019-112). This is valid for the inland and tidal waters of Nova Scotia that border and flow into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait from the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border to Cape North, Victoria County.
