Moncton, New Brunswick – October 7, 2026 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces an extension of the herring fall fishery in Herring Fishing Area 16G. This decision was made following a request from industry. The fishery will close no later than at 15:00 Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT) on October 16, 2026 or when the allocation is reached.
The current licence conditions remain valid.
