Moncton, New Brunswick (NB) and Quebec (QC) – May 14, 2025 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) hereby gives notice to stop herring fishing for scientific purpose in Herring Fishing Area 16 pursuant to the conditions of the Herring spring scientific collection licence and the Herring spring scientific experimental nets licence. The allocation authorized for these licences has been reached.
Effective May 14, 2025 at 18:00 hrs ADT and until further notice, all fishing for herring under a herring scientific licence must stop.
