Tracadie, New Brunswick (NB) – September 19, 2024 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces a revised Gulf New Brunswick (GNB) Bluefin tuna fleet Conservation and Harvesting Plan (CHP) for the 2024 fishing season.
The final Bluefin tuna allocation for 2024 is 46.438 metric tons (mt). This consists of the 2024 Bluefin tuna allocation for the GNB fleet of 38.651 mt, to which are added the uncaught quota of 2023 of 2.374 mt, an additional carry forward of 0.727 mt and the share of the allocation received by transfer from Mexico of 4.686 mt.
