CONSERVATION HARVESTING PLAN FOR THE SHARK RECREATIONAL FISHERY IN NAFO DIVISION 4T

Moncton (NB) – August 14, 2024 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) wishes to inform the public of the shark recreational fishery conservation harvesting plan in the southern Gulf of St-Lawrence in the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) Division 4T effective in 2024. 
 

The season will open annually from September 1 to September 30. Anglers with a shark recreational fishing licence will be able to catch and release sharks from sunrise to sunset each day during the open season.
 

A licence is required for this fishery. To obtain a licence for the 2024 season, a request has to be made using the DFO National Online Licensing System. If you require assistance, please contact the DFO Licensing division by email: gulfinfogolfe@dfo-mpo.gc.ca or by telephone: 1-855-634-2355.
