Moncton, Quebec, St. John’s and Halifax – July 4, 2022 – The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) today announces the continuation of previous TAC decisions for other groundfish species in the Gulf of St. Lawrence (NAFO Divisions 4RST).
4TVn Cod, 4T American Plaice and 4T White Hake
The 4TVn Cod, 4T American plaice and 4T White Hake directed fisheries remain closed until further notice. The maximum allowable bycatch for these species in other directed groundfish fisheries is listed below and will be limited as per Conservation Harvesting Plans. It should be noted that the fishery may be closed in the event that bycatch limits are reached. The existing allocation is available for bycatch only.
