Moncton (NB) and Québec (QC) – June 30, 2023 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces the implementation of a mandatory hail out for the commercial and bait herring fisheries in 2023 for all harvesters from the Gulf and Quebec Regions.

Mandatory hail out for Gulf and Quebec Region harvesters
All harvesters from the Gulf and Quebec Regions will be required to dial the telephone number 1-833-699-2013 or 1-506-431-3223 (satellite phone only) for new hails, modified hails and cancelled hails for commercial and bait herring fishing trips.
Harvesters must refer to the conditions of licence for compliance requirements.
