Mandate
The lobster section performs stock and fishery assessments, conducts studies aimed at answering specific questions on this species and provides scientific advice on conservation measures. The goal is to improve our knowledge in this species and the fishery which in turn will help fishers and fishery managers maintain healthy lobster populations. The lobster section is also responsible for the rock crab stock assessment which is a preferential prey species for lobster.
