Since 2000, Fisheries and Oceans Canada has partnered with the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government, ACAP Saint John and the Partenariat pour la gestion intégrée du bassin versant de la baie de Caraquet. These two groups are receiving funding through the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund and they are responsible to promote the Beach Sweeps program and to encourage and engage people in a beach clean-up in their community. ACAP Saint John is responsible for the southern portion of the province which extents from St. Stephen to Shediac while the Partenariat pour la gestion intégrée du bassin versant de la baie de Caraquet is responsible for the northern and eastern portion of the province, from Dalhousie to Bouctouche.
